Shaolin Soft Boxing

I have just posted this review of Shaolin Soft Boxing on Amazon

This is an excellent example of what martial art training material should be. The book has a short introduction before getting directly into the form description. Here is the problem, considering the number of people involved in the creation of the book (book by committee) the English translation is stilted at best, and just wrong in some places.

Fortunately, the included VCD is not as bad. The instruction on the VCD is clear and easy to follow. Lessons break the boxing sequence into easily learned parts. Each part includes a footwork diagram that shows you where you are in the total sequence, and makes it easy to see which way you should be headed. Combine this routine with The Luohan 13 forms and you will have a complete training regime. In fact, I would recommend spending a couple of months training The Luohan 13 forms before coming to this routine, then it would be a cinch to pick up.
